17 Marathons - 17 days

We'd like to introduce you to Louis Alexander - A British sportsman with a passion for Ultra sports competitions and endurance sports.

Louis has always challenged himself to complete some of the most demanding and longest endurance sports, including a 100km ultra-marathon in 2020.

In 2022, Louis decided to run 17 Marathons in 17 days in honour of his Grandad, who had suffered from Alzheimer’s for 17 years. As this amount of endurance took a lot of training, planning and preparation, we were delighted to be able to support Louis on his training journey.

Here is what Louis Alexander had to say about the achievement:

"3 years ago, I made a promise. I had the honour of speaking at my Grandad’s funeral, and in front of family, promised to support Alzheimer’s Research UK, the charity leading the fight against Dementia, with one event every year until the day we find a cure. To ensure one day, no family suffers from this cruel illness.

This has included climbing Mt Kilimanjaro at age 19, completing 20 challenges in 2020 at 20 years old, and last year a 100km ultra-marathon. But my next challenge is taking things to a new level.

Starting on 16th February 2022, I am going to run 17 marathons in 17 consecutive days for the 17 years my Grandad lived with Dementia, and in the process, I hope to raise £17,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK. "
